PREREQUISITES FOR INDOOR LEADER TRAINING! You will need your certificates from Fast Start and Youth Protection training in order to participate in the Indoor Leader Training sessions. Save yourself time and sleep in Saturday morning by taking these online courses ahead of time! See the link to the left that will take you to these online sessions. As the first step in the training continuum, Fast Start Training is meant to provide all the information and resources for new leaders to conduct their first meeting, along with guidance for the meetings that follow. All new leaders should receive the Fast Start materials as soon as they are recruited and are encouraged to participate in Basic Leader Training and roundtables. Self-study, rather than group training, is the preferred method for Fast Start Training. This gives the new leader the opportunity to learn at his or her own pace. Go to http://olc.scouting.org/ to get started with your on-line training. Set up an account, complete the training, log out, then back in to print out your course completion certificate. Complete Youth Protection training course too while you are logged into your account!!! Please note that the training email address has changed. All inquiries and correspondence related to training should be sent to training@mountainlakedistrict.com. Any seasoned scouter interested in instructing either indoor or outdoor sessions, please contact the training POC at training@mountainlakedistrict.com. The training POC will provide you with training material which you can personalize for presentation. |
